Coticule Selected Bout 9: 70-84 cm² Exclusive waterstone from the Ardennes. As the yellow Belgian chunks occur in nature only in thin layers, it is placed on a slate base. The Earth needed 480 million years to create the Belgian chunk of volcanic ash, slate and finest grenade.
The grenade is stored in the relatively soft gray-yellow sedimentary rock. Grenades are not only very hard, but also, like a ball divided into fine facets. Exactly these characteristics, hardness and roundness lead to the excellent sharpness characteristics. When removing steels, the burr created during grinding is removed and the cutting edge is polished. If the blade of the tool rubs over the moistened, fine-grained surface of the Belgian Brocken, its grenades emerge and loosen the grinding paste from the stone. The fine grenade penetrate only slightly into the steel and remove small chips from the workpiece. This creates a fine polish through the curves of the crystals.
This combination of speed and fineness is unique in the world. Belgian chunks, size 9, 70-84 cm² Quality I, (extra-extra) homogeneous stone with a perfect texture. contains 30 - 42% grenade. The shape of the delivered stone may differ from the shape of the product image.
