The Böker razor Abalone combines an extraordinary look with an outstanding performance. The drop-forged blade of this exceptional knife is made of carbon steel O1 (1.2510) and is hardened to 59-61 HRC. Due to its superior properties and excellent cutting durability, this carbon steel is ideally suited for high-quality razors.

The mollusk abalone, which is found a few metres below the surface of the water off the coasts of Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Mexico and South Africa, is considered a delicacy and has caused entire gang wars in the past due to its covetousness. Today this precious natural product is bred on aquaculture farms. The beautiful and almost artificially shimmering shells of these popular molluscs have always been used as decorative objects, as articles of daily use or as the basic material for jewellery, inlays or mother-of-pearl clasps. By using the most modern production methods, a wafer-thin layer of colourful abalone is applied to a carrier material and then covered with transparent acrylic. The very resistant material obtained in this way is ideally suited for the production of razor handles and impresses with its extraordinary play of colours and three-dimensional appearance.

The 4/8 inch wide blade of this extraordinary razor is ground extra hollow for sound and has a serration on both sides. The French head of the razor blade made of O1 carbon steel blends harmoniously with the extraordinary abalone handle. The simple laser engraving goes back to a historical blade etching, which was already used at the beginning of the 20th century for particularly unusual razors by Böker.
